Main Masterlist

Curled up on the couch queueing up all the scary movies you had planned to watch for the night, you heard his truck pull into the driveway. Curtis was finally home, and it was much later than you both had anticipated.

On most days, he was gone before the sunrise, that part wasn’t new. But early hours usually meant an early return unless something went wrong at the shop. And judging by the way the sun was well below set in the sky and you were already on your second bowl of candy for the trick-or-treaters, something went really wrong.

The door closed a little harder than usual, although Curtis was careful not to slam it. Based off of that, he didn’t seem angry about the day, but most definitely annoyed at the very least.

You turned to greet him, but he was already gone, the faint sound of him toeing off his boots filling the hallway along with his jingling belt buckle. He was probably going to take a shower to wash the day away, which was a good idea. That always calmed him a little, but he probably needed even more than that.

Curtis was probably going to take a bit of a longer shower, too, but you didn’t want to waste time. You moved quickly to throw the blanket off of you, grabbing the bowl of candy and setting it on the doormat for kids to help themselves. Your man needed you.

You ran quickly with your socked feet faintly sliding on the wooden floors, grateful you had already closed the windows earlier as you shucked off pieces of clothing one by one, leaving a trail.

Once you got to the bathroom door, Curtis was already under the water, simply standing there and letting it rush over him, a faint frown on his face. His hulking shoulders rose and fell steadily with his even breathing which was interrupted as you stepped into his space.

Curtis’s eyes blinked open, his long eyelashes catching droplets of water. Your heart sunk a little, seeing the clear exhaustion in his features as you reached up, your hands gently cupping his jaw, beard lightly scratching your palms.

“Hi, honey,” you whispered just above the sound of rushing water. He simply sighed and gave a grunt in response. Curtis had used his voice too much today, barking orders and corrections around the shop, dealing with more than his fair share of customers. Words were not something he wanted to produce right now, and he was so happy you could see that with the sympathetic smile that you flashed him.

Without a second thought, you knew exactly what you needed to do, reaching to the side and grabbing a dollop of body wash. You lathered it between your hands before pressing them against his firm pecs, rubbing in small circles. You moved outward across the broad expanse of his chest, watching his eyes flutter shut and his head tilt backwards in ecstasy.

You worked your way downward, over the hair of his chest and the ridges of his abs until you came upon the thatch of hair just above where he was starting to grow hard. The relaxation and care you were showing him was enough to do that, and after the kind of day he had, be needed a release.

You reached your soapy hand for his shaft, slowly pumping his length. You were startled as Curtis’s hand shot out and slapped the shower wall, his chin falling to his sternum as his breaths began to pick up. You could hear them huffing out of his nose. He watched the way you expertly twisted your wrist, slightly tentative since he still hadn’t spoken yet.

Curtis’s head slowly rose, his pupils blown with pleasure looking at you through his eyelashes. From the sight of his lust and need to feel good taking over, you got distracted, lost in his gaze. You didn’t even realize your hold weakening, your rhythm faltering until his large hand clasped over yours, helping you squeeze him and move faster.

Finally, Curtis’s lips broke their seal with a small gasp. His chest rumbled in a way that sent a shiver through you despite the warm water. His voice came out in a low growl, one you couldn’t ever bring yourself to deny.

Summary- 2.6k Curtis Everett x Plus!Sized Reader. You and Curtis are out for a night at Paulie's playing a game of pool with Claude and Grey. It all starts with one little Halloween pun and some purple nurples.

Life Is Short So Make It Sweet Masterlist

The pool balls clacked across the bars table while you stood nearby watching Curtis and Grey debate on where the balls would go. Claude stood at the other end, picking out pool cues for you and her. 

Money sat on the edge, waiting for the future winner to lay claim. The bar was festively decorated all around, the usual music that Paulie played was now tuned in with some more halloween themed songs. You were waiting for Monster Mash to start playing, already having told Paulie you were gonna need a tray of Purple Nurple shots to be delivered per your and Claude’s request. A little homage to Dean Winchester as well as shooting some purple colored shots. Tis the season after all. 

Curtis wandered over after it was all decided who was playing what ball, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you in close. You sunk into his touch, cuddling in against him. “Mh mh MH.” You started, looking up at him. “I didn’t know my favorite Halloween treat came in life size.” 

“Honey, I will be the monster you can mash.” Curtis immediately responded, a hand wandering to cup your ass, arching your hip to press against his while you hid your giggle in his chest. “You and Grey are stripes.” He rumbled, grumpy in the moment that Claude insisted on switching up the usual teams. “You over here looking all ‘come fuck me Curtis’ Pretty Girl is giving me some thoughts.” His nips on your mouth, tasting of his whiskey shots from earlier making you grin at the sensation, the warmth of his chest seeping through his hoodie and curling through you. You let your hands slide into the pouch at the front of his shirt, tugging Curtis in closer to you till he was wrapped all around you. “Babe, I must be a witch.” You let your nose rub against his before pulling back enough to see his expression, your grin wider with the upcoming joke you had for him. 

“Really? Why’s that, 'cause you put a spell on me?” Curtis played along, his grumpy expression from earlier still a trace on his features, but he was starting to lighten up a bit more while flirting with you. 

“I actually can raise your broomstick without even touching it.” You informed him, arching enough to press a kiss to his bristled cheek while he gave a huff of a laugh, you snorting in a giggle while he hugged you against him. 

“Fuck.” He grunted, talking only loud enough for you to hear so his mouth was close to your ear, the bristles of his cheek a welcome sensation as they brushed against your jawline. “You really do have that kind of magic woman.” 

Claude shouted over the table, making you and Curtis glance her way. “Curtis, remember you're on opposite teams. You can’t be over there flirting with the enemy.” She held up his pool cue. “And it’s your turn.” 

“Then you’re in for some fucking bad luck Claude, 'cause I have no will power against my girl.” Curtis let his hand run along the curve of your ass one more time before pulling away and taking the cue from her, looking around the table for the best shot while Grey appeared behind Claude, catching her in his arms and making her yelp in surprise, the two of them fooling around with one another while Curtis aimed for a shot.

You admired Curtis, so reminiscent of the first time you two played pool when bumping into each other. It was even the same table, the two of you talking and getting to know each other while Curtis taught you how to play. That moment felt like a lifetime ago now, so much having happened between you and Curtis to get to this carefree moment shared with friends. The sound of Claude whooping in victory while Grey groaned had you breaking from your thoughts, giving a shrug of your shoulder to the group as if you weren’t at all worried while you approached the table and prepared to take your turn. 

“Lucky shot Everett, now step aside.” Your hand pushed playfully against the wall of muscle that made up his chest, never really standing a chance at actually moving Curtis back a step but he purposely stumbled back like you did, giving you space to play. 

“Yes Pretty Girl.” He muttered, making Claude shoot him a ‘don’t you dare look’ and he smirked in response. You set yourself closer to the table, leaning into the move with a sharp hit of the follow through and as soon as your shot was done, you felt Curtis’s hands fall to your waist and while you eased up, you were able to lean into his chest, watching the balls scatter once more, not making any shots but helping line up some for Grey to take when his chance came. “Good shot Pretty Girl.” He watched over your shoulder calculating which ones Claude should take. 

“I'm happy with it.” You hummed out. “I sure as hell wasn’t going to be getting any at that time.” 

They watched Claude and Grey play, the two of them doing their own game of flirting. You and Curtis stayed off to the side, losing interest in the game at this point. 

“Pretty Girl, we should be werewolves for Halloween.” 

“Oh really?” You turned in his hold to face him, the two of you wandering further away from the pool table, the halloween music thumping louder and although you knew Curtis wasn’t much for dancing unless the two of you were at the house, you started swaying to the music playing. “Why is that?” 

His hands were flowing over your curves though, tracing you like he couldn't get enough of how you felt moving in his arms. “I bet we would have a howling good time together.” 

You busted into laughter at this one, making him laugh too. Purple People Eater started playing over the speakers and you tilted your head back to listen to the song. “Paulie! Purple Nurples!” You shouted out. Claude danced over to you, grabbing your hands and pulling you into her arms, the two of you bouncing in a childish dance. 

“Yeah, I got them!” He slid a tray across the counter towards Grey, who gathered up the bright purple shots to bring to the table you all had laid claim to earlier. Curtis took one and sniffed it, his nose wrinkling at the smell. 

“Damn that smells sweet.” He handed you yours while waiting for the go ahead to take it. 

“The grape jello, just be quick with it!” You tilted your head back and let it slide down your throat, Curtis doing the same. You reached over for two more, intent on finishing the tray before the song ended. “Hey Curtis, is it Halloween yet?” 

He took the shot, not as enthusiastic as you, but he was willing to stomach the shot once more for you. “Just a couple more days, Pretty Girl and then you can take out those fangs again.” His blue eyes raked over you suggestively, his gaze dark and wanting with his suggestion. 

“Good, Cause you can carve my pumpkins.” You grabbed his hands to lay them on your curvy ass cheeks, arching into his grasp as he squeezed his hands on you and gave a moan that bordered on getting turned on and exasperated at your last lame joke. Why yes they do! And here they are in no particular order...

Ari "Beast" Levinson & Bird: Sweet Renegade Series Bird is hosting a special little Halloween event at Baubles & Quills in the evening before heading home to pass out candy. She's already got her costume picked out and is super excited to be going as a Pink Lady from Grease.

Bird is also trying to convince Ari to dress up too, although he's not too keen on the idea. But she isn't ready to give up yet. Our sassy southern belle is determined to change his mind.

Andy Barber & Baby Girl: Growing Pains Series

This year, the Barber's family costume was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Andy is going as the Mad Hatter, with Baby Girl as Alice.

Meanwhile, the kids got to choose which character they wanted to be, as long as they stuck with the Alice in Wonderland theme. Little BiBi is very excited to dress up as The Red Queen, while KitCat really wanted to be the Cheshire Cat. Both girls are also helping their Mama make their own costumes this year.

As for the three-year-old twins, sweet A.J. is going as the March Hare and darling Rory is set to be the most adorable Caterpillar ever.

And here's some really cool news, the Barbers are set to debut their costume a few days before Halloween at a special bash hosted by the Governor.

The Trio Gals: Trio Series This year, our favorite brats are going as their version of the famed Charlie's Angels. Right now, they've almost convinced each of their respective Daddies to go as a group of criminals whose evil plot was foiled before they were taken into custody.

Mostly because those girls are looking for any excuse to put Andy, Curtis, and Ari in cuffs.

And that's it. Those are their plans. Those restraints are coming out with or without a Halloween Party. That's part of what makes those brats so scary.

Ya know, right off the bat, I can't think of anyone who's downright against it, but some of them would help and some would just leave you to it. One--take a wild guess--would throw an incredible bitch-fit if he tripped over one gd thing in his way, but otherwise...

Um, there's some language but nothing adult-specific.

Most Into Autumn Decor--Curtis Everett

Okay, there's a reason I worded it that way, but I was a bit surprised, too. I would not be able to tell you if this somehow wasn't influenced by @sweater-daddiesdumbdork's "Life Is Short So Make It Sweet" series, but I truly believe Curtis would be equally into decorating for fall/autumn with you. He'd be the most active in finding decor, too, whether he's shopping with you there or just finding stuff randomly. He'd take the time to plan out and execute a whole thing in the house, and he would get the most joy out of sitting in the warm glow.

Honorable Mentions to James Mace, Johnny Storm, and Ransom Drysdale.

Mace will get into it but not as much as Curtis and for a shorter period of time. You best believe Johnny digs the campfire-and-s'mores vibes but is wary of shit hanging from the ceiling or dry stuff piled on the floor. Ransom is obviously into dressing for the season but also likes to find the most expensive version of all decor, so those beautiful, blown-glass pumpkins are a staple. Ran is perfectly fine if you want to repaint the damn walls every couple months to match the mood; he's fine with it, but he doesn't expend much effort.

Most Indifferent--Jimmy Dobyne

He doesn't hate the season by any means. He's fine with the colors. He likes when you're happy, so if the house needs to be packed with pumpkins and fairylights and shit, okay. Don't expect him to really participate in it, and don't bring rotting leaves into the house. Real pumpkins are for eating or outside.

The other reason he doesn't really care is that Jimmy spends most days outdoors for work and whatnot. He sorta just...sees autumn the whole time it's autumn, and that is enough for him.

If you were wondering why I didn't mention Jake earlier it's because he is miles above Curtis's enthusiasm for one specific thing: spooky shit.

Jake isn't afraid to go all-out. He will make the entire house, the yard, the gd neighborhood if they let him, into a haunted experience. This is, unfortunately, to the point where you have slipped on fake blood before and bruised your tailbone. Jake is now limited to the week of Halloween itself for the more dangerous accoutrements like liquids and sharp blades. Knives and weapons stay in shadowboxes or cabinets otherwise.

No, he will not be taking questions about why they aren't the fake, safe kinds. Just let him have this.

**I don't have a name for the superlative that Lloyd Hansen wins but he is the most obsessed with curating *his look* seasonally.

Yes, I even mean more so than our sweater boi Ransom...

Lloyd is also the man who flips the fuck out if a room or the yard is littered with stuff to decorate. If it's a mess (even for a little while) he thinks it all looks trashy and can't stand that, so you gotta be kinda stealth or methodical about doing it.

Project? Did someone say project???? Ari's there, tools ready, let's go.

Ari's the man who has a shed or garage full of stuff for all occasions. Sure, there are a lot of power tools and mechanic things, but he's also kept track of all the art supplies, cleaned up that hot-glue gun and twist-tied the cord nicely, and sorted everything into bins or some of the drawers in his shelves. Nails and screws for all sorts. Wall anchors if necessary. He keeps a stash of those papertowel rolls for kids projects. Tissue paper and bags for gift wrapping. He doesn't go so far as to color-code it or anything, but it's grouped together and neatly stowed away. He is always willing to participate in building something new, even if it's silly little paper things.

Most Into Autumn Activities--Steve Rogers

I don't think Steve has any issue with early sprucing for the season, but he is definitely planning where the apple-picking and pumpkin patches are and when to go. There may be fourteen different hay rides and corn mazes to get through, but don't worry, he's got a schedule! He's rewashed the thermoses for hot cocoa at the ready. He bought another stack of pie tins just in case. He printed off several new recipes to try this year, and the ones from last year have hand-written notes in the margins of what to adjust this time. So, yup, hang onto your butts because it's gonna get real busy in a few weeks...

There will be no Curtis and Honey Autumn This or That this coming week as I have a guest arriving to enjoy Halloween week here, so I won't really be around much.

Claude shouted over the table, making you and Curtis glance her way. “Curtis, remember you're on opposite teams. You can’t be over there flirting with the enemy.”

Burning Up, Chapter 2

Word Count:  1.5k

You felt embarrassed. 

You felt beyond silly. 

It had been nearly four days since the party, and you and Curtis had been texting non-stop. 

You really hadn’t believed that he was a firefighter up until the point you’d seen him board the truck and disappear into the night.  But there he was in all his glory; a real, living, breathing fireman.  And it secretly drove you wild. 

He seemed to be reveling in the fact that you loved his profession though, going so far as to invite you to see the station.  You, of course, couldn’t refuse the offer.  But you also wanted to make a good impression. 

Which was how you ended up parking your car in the lot and grabbing the tray of cookies you’d made for them. 

Anxiety coated your nerves, making you overthink every little detail. 

Was your dress nice enough?  Was the light amount of makeup you put on too much?  What if they didn’t like the cookies?  Should you have made cupcakes instead?

But a knock  on your window made you jump, nearly dropping the wrapped tray of cookies back onto the passenger seat.  Smiling on the other side of the window was the friend that you’d briefly met. 

“Johnny!”

“Hey there sweetheart,” he chuckled as you opened the door and handed him the tray of cookies, “glad to see that you took up Everett on his offer to come by the station.”

Your eyes widened, “he-he told you that I was coming?”

“Told all of us to be on our best behavior,” he teased, already calming your fried nerves, “he really wants to make a good impression on you.”

“I don’t think he has to worry about anything!”

He smirked, gently nudging your side, “got a thing for the firefighter, little flame?  Tell me, is it the uniform?”

You felt a blush rise to your cheeks once more as you instantly felt like you were falling into a comfortable friendship with the relatively unknown, but flirty man, “Johnny, stop!”

He smirked a little bit more, “you’re too sweet and reserved…perfect for Everett.”

“STORM!”

The voice made you jump into the air yet again, and suddenly you were happy that Johnny had taken the cookies from you, because you knew that would have made you drop them all over the ground. 

“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU!” the man growled in an authoritative tone, “THE STATION IS NOT YOUR HOOKUP SPOT!”

“Not mine, honestly cap!” he said quickly, holding up a hand, “scouts honor.  This is Everett’s girl.  She-“

“Everett?” the man asked, confusion lacing his features, “Curtis isn’t seeing anyone.  He-“

“Met her at that Halloween party with the smoke machine,” Johnny reminded the dirty blonde, “she’s the schoolgirl that gave her his number…the one that’s had a smile plastered on his face every day since then.”

The man chuckled before his brow raised, “and she brought him…cookies?”

“You guys don’t like cookies do you?” you nervously asked, “I-I’m sorry.  I knew I should have made cu-“

“It’s fine, kitten!” the captain chuckled, “the boys around here will eat a woman out of house and home if she let them.  My wife knows all about that from when we were dating.  My best friend and I used to work at the same station, and she learned that the best way to a fireman’s heart is through his stomach.  Hell, me and Buck-“

“Cap…I don’t think Everett wants you scaring off his new girl with stories of ‘the good old days,’ or nothing,” Johnny laughed, “not that your stories aren’t funny…it’s jus-“

“I-I don’t mind…”

“Steve Rogers,” the captain smiled, holding out his hand to you, “you’re welcome at the station any time, sweetheart…haven’t seen Everett smile so much in my entire career with him…the amount of smiling he’s done staring at his phone…you’re welcome here, kitten.”

“Th-thank you sir!”

“You know…I’m starting to think you’re stalking me.”

Your attention turned towards a door near the back of the garage.  Curtis was standing in its frame, making the doorway look smaller than it really was.  You couldn’t fight back the smile that worked its way onto your face as he walked out to you. 

Your breath caught in your throat the closer he got to you.  It felt like there was electricity in the air as the small hairs on your arms stood on edge, “Hey…”

“Hey…”

“Well, I’m going to take these upstairs to the kitchen…and I’m going to take cap…” Johnny said awkwardly, “Maybe you want to give her a tour of the station?”

“Oh…uh, yeah…” he smiled bashfully, “do you want to see the firehouse (Y/N)?”

“Sounds great!”

You bit your lip as Curtis led you back through the garage to what he called ‘the grand finale’ of the tour, the fire truck.  

He’d shown you the entirety of the station; where they hung out in a common area, the kitchen and offices, the bunks, and he even let you slide down the pole after showing you how to properly do it.

“Alright, so there’s really nothing to it,” he offered sweetly, wrapping his arms around your waist to put you in front of the pole, “you’re going to hitch your legs around it, and hold on for the ride…”

You looked down at the hole in the ground, the pole sturdily sitting in the middle of it, but a much larger part of you was too afraid to do it, too unsure of the uncertainty that lay below.

“Curtis?”

“It’s okay,” he whispered down into your ear.  One of his hands trailed away from your waist, and down to your leg; his calloused hand on your bare, toned thigh making you shiver.  Instinctively your back arched as he lifted the leg, hitching it around the pole.  You heard him muffle a groan and take a step back, his hands falling away from you, “I-I can do it first if you want…show you how to do it…”

“Y-yeah…yeah.  O-okay.”

You unlatched yourself from the pole and took a few steps back.  When you looked back at Curtis he was blushing.  Your eyes trailed down and you noticed a growing bulge in his jeans.  Your thighs clenched as you began to see the outline of his massive appendage.  A blush rose to your own cheeks as you looked away while he stepped up to the pole and slid down without sparing you another glance. 

Your heart raced as you thought about the outline from his jeans; your mind racing to re-produce the unsavory thoughts you had been having about him the past few days.  No longer was it you innocently riding his thick thigh…now you were whining needily for his massive cock, begging him to split you in half.

“(Y/N)?”

You shook yourself from your thoughts and looked down at him through the hole.  He instantly turned beet red and looked away. 

“I-shit…shit…sorry.  I forgot about the dress!” he muttered. 

Your eyes went wide, and you took a step back, embarrassed that he’d seen up your dress to the sex red lace you were wearing beneath it in an attempt to feel sexy seeing Curtis for the first time outside he party. 

“I’m sorry I didn’t think about that…”

You looked up at him, surprised that he was referencing the pole.  A blush rose to your cheeks again as you tried to shake it off, “i-it’s okay.  I shouldn’t have worn a dress…”

He chuckled, “I mean…you didn’t know that you were going to be sliding down a pole…”

“You’re right,” you teased, “someone should have given me some warning.”

Curtis blushed yet again, “sorry.”

“Speaking of warnings…Johnny mentioned when I got here that you warned all of them to be on their best behaviors?” you teased yet again.  His blush deepened and you smiled, feeling like you finally had the upper hand, “I thought you were Mr. Self-assured…sexy firefighter?”

“Maybe I just wanted a little extra assurance,” he smirked, going to lean against the front of the fire truck, “I mean-“

But his words were cut off the second he touched the truck, the loud alarm going off around him.  It made him freak out, missing the hood and sliding down the front of the truck, his head hitting the grill on the way down.

“Oh my god, Curtis!” you squeaked, your eyes going wide as the large firefighter cut his brow on the grill.

You followed his gaze as his hand went towards his brow, and saw a few of the guys, Johnny included, giggling as the alarm to the truck turned off.  But their alarm turned to concern when they saw their friend bleeding.

“Fucking asshats!” Curtis growled, “shit…I’m bleeding…I-I gotta go upstairs and get myself cleaned up!”

“Let me help,” you offered gently, reaching for his free hand, “I’m actually an ER nurse…I-I can stitch you up…”

“Okay,” he smiled sadly, upset that his date ended in him getting hurt, but happy that you were wanting to be there for him, “thanks, (Y/N)!”

“Of course, Curtis…”
